real life college ministry
real life exists to raise up an authentic community of Jesus followers on the oregon state university campus. my marketing and design work is geared towards furthering this mission. i have interned with the ministry for both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years.

01
visual identity refresh
real life's logo and visual identity felt outdated and lacked a consistent color guide when i began my internship. inspired by outdoor brands like pategonia, i wanted to create a visual identity that would capture the energy of the pacific northwest, where real life resides. this new look also needed a fresh logo font to elevate future promotional materials and design with a more modern feel. now, real life has a crisp and consistent visual identity guide that reflects the enviroment of the students involved. download the full identity guide to see more.
02
social media management
during the 2023-24 school year i began managing the real life instagram and facebook accounts. every week i coordinate with the photographers and leadership team to ensure the photos are recent and the information being shared is up to date, then share all of the stories and posts. i design the graphics for posts with text when needed to announce important dates and upcoming events. to maintain a clean social media presence, i also regularly update story highlights, links, and pinned posts to display important information in an easy-to-find way.

03
custom t-shirt design
as a part of my role for my 2023-24 internship, i was tasked with designing an updated t-shirt that highlighted the fall term theme. after working with the other members on the leadership team we settled on the phrase "what are you made for?" which then guided my design. i created an original modified font that was inspired by current t-shirt trends, resulting in a clean, eye-catching, and friendly design. the purpose of these shirts was to spark conversations and maintain a consistent visual presence with other real lifers serving on campus.

04
brand promotionals
after completing the brand redesign, i wanted to develop high quality promotional products that could be utilized for several years to come. the promotional table cloth and pop up banner are used at all outreach events to develop a strong brand identity wherever the real life community may be.

05
marketing campaigns
to continue spreading the word about real life, i have developed several marketing campaigns in the form of posters and digital advertising. this campaign had several target audiences. the first poster, with the messaging "i want you to experience a life worth living," is geared towards those who do not have a faith background, with an awareness of the mental health crisis facing many college students. the second poster, with the text "join a community of authentic believers," is geared towards people with a faith background who are not currently involved in a faith community while in college. the final promotional graphic serves as a reminder to the current real life community that "real life is back!"
06
stage decor
my idea behind this mosaic stage decor was to create a collaborative project with the entire real life community. everyone was given a tile to write a word they wanted to surrender to God, then broke their tiles as a physical act of this call to surrender. after completing this step, i carefully assembled and grouted the mosaic to take on the form of a flame. the final mosaic is displayed at real life to remind the community of the power of surrender.
